Competitions

The competition programme lasts up to 15 minutes and includes at least three Advent or Christmas pieces. Full details are published by the festival office.

Photojournalists’ Award

The Photojournalists’ Award “Emotion and Artistic Expression through the Lens” is a PLN 1,000 cash prize funded by STOLZ Photography Team (SPT). It is awarded by the SPT photographers documenting the competition, independently of the jury’s decisions.

The competition will take place on 19 June 2027 at the Cieszyn Cultural Centre “Dom Narodowy”. If many choirs qualify, some categories may begin on 18 June.

Competition programme

The programme must include at least 3 choral pieces and last 12–15 minutes including entry and exit. Children’s, youth and senior choirs have a 10–12-minute limit. One piece may use an instrument if the instrumental part is included in the score.

Competition categories

The competition has four repertoire categories:

• Sacred music
• Contemporary music
• Folk / ethnic music
• Gospel, spiritual, jazz and pop

Ensemble type — including chamber, vocal, mixed, equal-voice, children’s, youth, academic or senior choir — is selected separately in the application form.

Two main categories may be selected. Entry into a third category requires consultation with the Festival Director; the additional category remains pending their approval after submission. Choir / ensemble type is a separate field in the application form.

Prizes

The Grand Prix and special awards are cash prizes. Partners also fund the PLN 1,000 STOLZ Photography Team Photojournalists’ Award and a PLN 1,000 award with a diploma for the best performance of a Polish-language piece.
